MADISON (AP) - As if winning a state title were not enough cause for celebration.
Monroe sophomore forwards Jamie Armstrong and Ashley Hermanson were named by the Associated Press as honorable mention all-state players Monday night.
The duo are the only area players on the team. The honors came two days after the Lady Cheesemakers won the WIAA Division 2 state championship.
Armstrong grabbed nine rebouds in that game and blocked five shots.
Hermanson notched a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Megan Van Tatenhove, a senior center from Oostburg, averaged 19 points and 8 rebounds per game this season, shooting a remarkable 73 percent from the field. She was named the Associated Press Player of the Year for Wisconsin.
