Argyle triumphs

ARGYLE - Senior Cam Treuthardt tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Argyle baseball team to a 10-0 five-inning win over Black Hawk on Tuesday.

Treuthardt struck out seven and walked just one. The only hits for the Warriors came from Jett Rufenacht and Prestin Bevins.

Argyle scored seven runs in the first inning. Argyle junior Brent Ritschard and Treuthardt each went 2-for-3 with one run scored. Six Argyle players each drove in one run.

Black Hawk junior Michael Flanagan pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up five earned runs on three hits and walked three. Bevins pitched 21⁄3 innings in relief and gave up three earned runs on four hits. He struck out one and walked four. Black Hawk's Noah Metz tossed one shutout inning in relief.



Beloit Turner 8, Brodhead-Juda 2

BELOIT - Brodhead-Juda senior Tyler Hoesly went 4-for-4 with one RBI, but the state's second-ranked Division 2 team, Beloit Turner, cruised to the win over the Cardinals.

The Trojans scored two runs in the first and had a three-run fourth to take a 6-1 lead.

Brodhead-Juda Matt Schmitt pitched 31⁄3 innings and gave up four earned runs on one hit. He struck out three and walked four.



New Glarus 7, Belleville 2

BELLEVILLE - Alex Goecke went 2-for-4 with two RBI to propel the Glarner Knights over rival Belleville.

The Wildcats were plagued by four errors. New Glarus' Jared Carney went 2-for-5.

The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings. New Glarus put the game away with a three-run seventh.

Carney pitched five innings to get the win. He gave up two earned runs on two hits.
