JUDA - Argyle's boys basketball team used a big second half to topple the Juda, 51-38, on Monday.
The Orioles (4-7, 3-4 Six Rivers East) have struggled in second halves this season. But that changed Monday against Juda (2-8, 1-5)
"They came out and caught fire in the second half," Juda head coach Andy Werner said.
Argyle scored its first handful of shots in the third quarter, while the Panthers failed to score. Quickly a 23-23 halftime tie rolled into a double-digit lead for the Orioles.
Juda cut the score to 41-38 with two minutes left in the game, but then fell flat.
"They were the better team tonight," Werner said. "We had some costly mistakes and (Argyle) capitalized on them."
Argyle hosts Black Hawk (7-4, 2-2) on Friday, while Juda hosts Monticello (7-5, 4-1).
