Argyle, Barneveld play despite wind, rain

ARGYLE - Despite the high winds, rain and cool temperatures, the Argyle softball team played Friday and lost 13-5 to Barneveld.

The Orioles and Barneveld were tied at 5 going into the fourth inning when the Eagles broke through with four runs. Barneveld added two runs in both the fifth and sixth.

Argyle's Alysha Monahan went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead the Orioles. Junior Stacy Kromminga went 2 for 3 and Kim Pink was 2 for 4 Argyle.

Orioles freshman Jessica Treuthardt pitched a complete game and gave up seven earned runs on 15 hits. She walked four and struck out one.

Barneveld sophomore Tayler Bowser went 3 for 3 and senior Taylor Ruchti was 3 for 5 with five RBIs.
