ARGYLE - Senior Collin Argue scored 23 points to lead the Argyle boys basketball team to a 63-23 victory over Belmont on Monday.
Argue scored 21 points in the first half to help the Orioles (1-1) build a 41-4 advantage.
"This was a good game to work on our offensive sets and defense and all the little things," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said.
All 12 Orioles played and 11 scored.
"We're still trying to figure stuff out," Jenson said. "We've only got three guys who have played a lot of varsity. We're trying to catch our young guys up as soon as possible, get them as many reps as possible.
Argyle opened the season with a 63-8 loss to Platteville on Nov. 22. The Orioles travel to Potosi for a game Thursday.
"That is going to be our first game that is a grinder the whole game and probably will be decided in the last couple of minutes," Jenson said. "We've been on both ends of blowouts the first two games. This game (against Potosi) should help us figure out where we are as a team right now."
ALBANY 85, BENTON 72
ALBANY - Connor Trow scored 17 points to lead the Comets (2-1) over Benton.
Albany led 35-27 at halftime.
"We forced a lot of turnovers, 24 in the game," Albany coach Derek Allen said "We pressed quite a bit and got a lot of turnovers in the backcourt."
Brock Gilkes and Jamison Stauffacher each scored 16 points for Albany.
The Comets hit 11 3-pointers, including four from Gilkes and three from Trow.
