AREA BASEBALL:: Warriors fall to No. 1 Barneveld

BARNEVELD - Black Hawk's baseball team couldn't adjust to the pitching of the No. 1-ranked team in the state in Division 4, Barneveld, falling 15-5 in six innings Thursday.

Originally scheduled to be played in South Wayne, the game looked to be going in the Warriors' favor early. After allowing a run in the bottom of the first, Black Hawk scored two runs in both the second and the third innings to take a 4-1 lead headed into the bottom of the third.

The Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the third, then exploded for seven runs in the fourth to take a 10-4 lead.

Black Hawk added another run in the fifth, but Barneveld added five runs in the sixth to end the game.

Payton Schliem, T.J. Adams and Nick Good all saw action on the mound for Black Hawk. Good had three hits at the plate and both Adam Moore and Shane Jackson had two.
