ALBANY - The Albany boys basketball team used a balanced offensive attack to shoot down Argyle 48-34 Tuesday night.

Albany sophomore Isaiah Shell scored a game-high 12 points and senior Gavin Ruef had 10 points. Albany senior Ty Mauerman had nine points and senior Cody Schultz added eight.

"To have that balance was really good," Albany coach Derik Doescher said. "They did a good job of keying on Isaiah and Gavin to keep them from scoring. Everyone else stepped up and scored."

Albany (8-10, 5-4 Six Rivers East) took a 24-15 halftime lead and put the Orioles away by outscoring them 13-3 in the third quarter.

"It's the only quarter we played defense and rebounded the basketball," Doescher said.

Senior Kyle Zwicker scored nine points to lead the Orioles.

Barneveld 59, Black Hawk 34

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk gave eighth-ranked Barneveld all it could handle for a half, but the Eagles opened the second half on a 17-0 run to seize control in the Six Rivers East Conference game.

Barneveld led 23-20 at halftime, but senior Sam Nechkash scored 15 of his game-high 18 points in the third quarter to ignite the Eagles to a 45-25 third quarter lead.

Juniors Cuyler Meier, Kyle Walters, and Merik Meythaler each scored six points to lead the Warriors (8-9, 4-4 Six Rivers East).

Juda 58, Pecatonica 37

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Panthers outscored the Vikings 40-16 over the middle two quarters to earn their fifth straight win.

Junior Matt Trotter scored 16 points, junior Cole Bauman had 13 and senior Joey Jordan added 10 for the Panthers (11-4, 5-3 Six Rivers East). Senior Wyatt Massey led Pecatonica (4-13, 2-7) with 14 points and senior Karson Feller added 12.

New Glarus 60, Waterloo 54

WATERLOO - Senior Riley Miller buried four 3-pointers on his way 12 first-quarter points and a game-high 17 points to lead the Glarner Knights in a Capitol South Conference play.

Miller knocked down four 3-pointers in all for the game while senior Ryan Zimmerman added 14 points for the Glarner Knights (10-7, 6-1 Capitol South), who remain in a first-place tie in the division.
