ALBANY - Connor Trow's 3-point barrage in the first half carried the Albany High School boys basketball team to a 53-42 victory over Black Hawk on Tuesday.
Trow finished with a game-high 23 points. The junior guard hit five of his six 3-pointers in the first half and scored 17 points to help the Comets gain a 31-17 advantage.
"Obviously for us, everybody keys on Tyler Dahl," Albany coach Derik Doescher said of the senior guard. "For Connor to step up like he did was huge.
"He shot with confidence and gave us the ability to open the game up."
Dahl finished with 16 points.
Sophomore C.J. Leuzinger paced Black Hawk with 20 points, including six 3-pointers. He hit five 3s and scored 17 points in the second half when the Warriors outscored the Comets 25-22.
Freshman Conner Meyer added 11 points for Black Hawk.
"Credit to Black Hawk. They scrapped and fought, but in the end we were able to grind one out," Doescher said.
Senior Josh Little added six points for Albany, all on 3-pointers that Doescher said came at key moments in the game when Black Hawk was making a push.
"The contributions that we got outside of Tyler tonight were huge," Doescher said.
The win gave Albany (12-6, 5-4 Six Rivers East) the season sweep against Black Hawk (8-10, 4-5). The Comets won 76-65 over the Warriors on Dec. 18.
New Glarus 78, Wisconsin Heights 64
NEW GLARUS - Senior Gavin Binger and freshman Jaden Kreklow each scored 19 points to propel New Glarus over Wisconsin Heights.
New Glarus senior Trey Taylor scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half to stake the Glarner Knights to a 41-27 halftime lead. Kreklow hit three 3-pointers.
New Glarus senior Austin Schluter added 10 points and knocked down two 3-pointers.
The Knights (12-6, 7-1 Capitol South) remain one game behind Marshall in the Capitol South.
Wisconsin Heights senior Tony Caminiti scored a game-high 27 points, and teammate Tylan Parman had 20 points.
HIGHLAND 62, Monticello 46
MONTICELLO - The Ponies let an early advantage slip away and fell to Highland for the second time in five days.
Monticello led 19-10 with midway through the first half but Highland went on a 22-6 run before halftime to gain a 32-25 lead. Monticello (1-16) never got closer than seven points in the second half.
Jon Ross Linscheid, who scored 18 points Friday in Highland's 54-41 win over Monticello, erupted for 32 Tuesday. He had 19 points in the first half, including three of his four 3-pointers.
Senior Logan Marty paced Monticello with 16 points, including three 3s. Junior Zach Price added 11 points and sophomore Braden Gafner nine. Price hit two 3s and Gafner one.
Sophomore Jon Errthum, who had 20 points against Highland last week, finished with eight Tuesday.
