PLATTEVILLE - Albany seniors Tyler Dahl and Cole Trapp each took turns getting the hot-shooting hand to lead the Comets to a 76-65 win over the Black Hawk boys basketball team in the Six Rivers Jamboree Friday night on Bo Ryan Court.

Dahl scored 21 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, and Trapp scored 18 of his 26 points in the first half to propel the Comets.

"He (Dahl) went off in the second half," Albany coach Derik Doescher said.

Black Hawk raced out to a 15-6 lead early in the first half. Albany (5-2, 2-1 Six Rivers East) switched to a man-to-man defense, closed the first half on a big run and took a 37-27 lead at the half.

"It got us going energy-wise, and we hit some shots," Doescher said.

The Comets led by as many as 19 points in the second half. The Warriors battled back to cut the Comets' lead to five points.

Black Hawk (3-1, 2-1) was led by junior Josh Meier who scored a team-high 13 points. Senior teammates Jacob Quinn and Chase Stietz each added 12 points.

The Comets made 15 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

"We were able to hold them off by shooting free throws well," Doescher said.

The Comets made five 3-pointers. Trapp knocked down three of the Comets' 3-pointers in the first half.

Pecatonica 66, Argyle 50

PLATTEVILLE - Pecatonica junior A.J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had six assists to lead the Vikings on Bo Ryan Court.

Pecatonica's Kole Kent scored 16 points and had nine rebounds as the Vikings jumped out to a 32-20 lead at the half.

"We got out in transition a little bit," Pecatonica coach Matt Fink said. "When we get out and run we are a good team. They didn't give us anything easy. We had to work for everything. I think the difference was we were able to get some points on the fast break."

Pecatonica improves to 6-1, 2-0 Six Rivers East. Argyle drops to 4-3, 0-2.

"I think Argyle is a very good team," Fink said. "They only have eight guys, but they can put five good players on the court at one time, and they work hard. They are much improved. They made us do some things we didn't want to do. We were fortunate to get out of there with a win. They (Argyle) will win a lot of games this year."
