BURLINGTON - The Comets were shut out in a 12-0, five-inning loss to Burlington Catholic Central in the regional final of the WIAA Division 4 baseball playoffs Wednesday.
Catholic Central scored four runs in the first, one in the second, four in the third and three more in the fourth. Albany had just four hits, while committing an error and allowing 14 Catholic Central hits.
Tyler Briggs was 2-for-3 for Albany. Bryce Hulbert took the loss on the mound, allowing nine earned runs in three innings of work. He allowed 11 hits and struck out three.
