SOUTH WAYNE - By knocking off a state tournament team from last year, the Orfordville Parkview Vikings picked up right where they left off from a 19-4 season a year ago with a 45-38 win over the Black Hawk Warriors in non-conference action Thursday night.
The Warriors took a 32-28 lead into the fourth quarter, but struggled over the final eight minutes, scoring just six points and going 7-22 at the free throw line for the game.
Orfordville Parkview (1-0) was led by Jenna Larsen with nine points and Stephanie Aasen with seven points.
Senior Kim Wellnitz topped the Warriors with 10 points and junior Melissa Wellnitz added seven points for the Warriors (1-1).
Black Hawk's next game will be the Six Rivers East conference opener at home Tuesday against Barneveld.

MONTICELLO - Monticello's Taylor Klitzke and Desiree Marty combined to score 22 points, but it wasn't enough as the Ponies lost to Wisconsin Heights.
The Vanguards raced out to a 15-8 first quarter lead, which ballooned to 12-points at halftime.
Monticello (0-2) shot just 5-of-12 from the free throw line.
The Ponies next play at home against Juda on Dec. 8.

ALBANY - The Albany Comets got off to a fast start, outscoring Shullsburg 12-6 in the first quarter, but scored only 19 points the rest of the way as the Miners handed the Comets their first loss of the season Thursday night in non-conference action.
Junior Courtney Pfeuti paced the Comets with nine points while juniors Hayli Peach and Sydney Bump each added eight points for Albany (2-1).
Blaire Lutes and Alyssa Graham led Shullsburg with 11 points each as the Miners improved to 2-0.
Albany will host Clinton Saturday in non-conference action.
