Coming up with a top 10 list from all the local sports stories of 2008 seemed like a daunting task.
Collaborating together, sports reporter Mark Nesbitt and I came up with a long list of notable stories that spans all the way back to the last time snow was on the ground.
We finished with a list of 17 stories that we thought were worthy of remembering.
From that list, we handed out copies around the office for a vote on what we thought were the most memorable and intrgiuing stories that peaked the readers' interest.
Then, using a point scheme - our version of the BCS system - we figured out what our list would look like.
In the end, our list may seem as flawed to you as the BCS. To others, maybe our list really did nail the top stories on the head.
You be the judge, and by all means, please send us a note and tell us what you think. If there's a story you think should have been on our list, let us know
Finally, congratulations to all the local athletes who work so hard for themselves, their teammates, and their school in order to have fun and gain their own life-long memories. Without you, this year-end edition would not be possible.
