BENTON - The New Glarus boys basketball team erupted for nine 3-pointers en route to a 53-42 win over Benton to win the Mike Alexander tournament title Saturday.
The Glarner Knights (7-0) won the battle of unbeaten teams.
Senior Logan Lockard led the Knights with a team-high 14 points including four 3-pointers.
Benton (6-1), ranked second in the WisSports.net Division 4 coaches poll, struggled from the free throw line, hitting just 9-of-22 charity shots.
The Knights added to a one-point halftime lead by outscoring Benton 18-10 in the third quarter.
