EAST TROY - The Cardinals had an extra 11 days to think their game at East Troy Saturday.
All that extra preparation paid off as Brodhead, powered by Kristin Ruchti's game-high 22 points, routed the Trojans 17-9 in the third quarter and earned a 60-46 victory.
Courtney Mielke added 11 for the Cardinals (12-5 overall) built a 26-23 halftime lead after playing East Troy even at 11 in the first quarter.
Paige Hoeper had two 3-pointers and Mielke one in the victory. Brodhead was also 21-for27 from the free throw line. The Cardinals travel to Fort Atkinson for another non-conference game Tuesday.
