Timothy G. “Tim” Holmes, age 59 of rural Argyle, WI passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. He was born March 23, 1962 in Monroe the son of Shorty and Ann (Howe) Holmes. Tim grew up in rural Argyle and graduated from Argyle High School in 1980. Following his graduation from high school he farmed with his dad in Argyle Township. In 2013, he began farming with his son Travis. Tim was an avid dairyman and strove for quality dairy cattle. Tim truly loved working with his cattle, and especially enjoyed feeding the cows. Tim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Penny M. Krahenbuhl on September 18, 1982 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle.
Tim is survived by his wife Penny at home; his children: Leah (Brian) McDonald of Mineral Point, WI, Travis (Stephanie) Holmes of rural Argyle, and Jessie (Kyle) Sigg of Hollandale, WI; his grandchildren that he absolutely adored: Hailey, Landon, and Blaine McDonald, Riley, Claire, and Hunter Holmes, and Crue and Beau Sigg; two brothers: Tom (Julie) Holmes of Brodhead, WI and Jim Holmes of Argyle; three sisters: Patti (Mike) McGowan of Black River Falls, WI, Michele (Craig) Gruenberg of Hales Corners, WI, and Laurie (David) Meixelsperger of Middleton, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tim served on the Argyle Township Board and Yellowstone Dairy Stand Board for several years, and was a member of the Blackhawk Saddle Club. In his free time, he enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and ranger riding.
Tim’s grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed every moment he got to spend with them and always made sure they knew how proud he was of them. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church (4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville 53516) with Rev. Kate Kieckhafer of Grace Lutheran Church in Darlington officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, September 6, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 Milwaukee St., Argyle).
