Therese K. (Aebly) Snyder, age 91, of Monroe, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Therese was born on June 24, 1928 in Monroe, the daughter of Benjamin and Walburga (Michlig) Meichtry. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1947 and was united in marriage to Gene H. Aebly on October 27, 1951 at St. Victor Catholic Church parsonage. The couple farmed in Jordan Township until moving to Monroe in 1984. Therese was employed in the laundry department of St. Clare Hospital until retiring in 1997. Therese married Eugene Snyder on October 8, 2000. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Mazzuchelli of Green County, Women of the Moose #599, enjoyed volunteering for The Apostolate to the Handicapped, Green County Food Pantry, Monroe Clinic Hospice, and Meals on Wheels. She was proud of all her grandchildren and was always interested in their activities. Therese loved to dance, listen to old time music, crochet, play cards, and was always fond of nature.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Cindy) Aebly of Monroe and Michael (Sandy) Aebly of Madison; two step-children, Alan (Diana) Snyder and Pam Burr, both of Janesville; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jim) DeSonia, Aaron (Melissa) Aebly, Elizabeth Aebly (Eric Kaney), Andrew Aebly (Angela Tate); Three step-grandchildren, Chad (Rachael), Cory (Amanda), and Seth (Karla) Snyder; six greatgrandchildren; four step-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Kaster and Ruth Ellen Putnam. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Gene Aebly in 1995, and Eugene Snyder in 2016; four sisters, Elsa Nussbaum, Olga Preston, Margaret Benkert, Mary Ann Blum; and a brother, Theodore Meichtry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke, Celebrant. Interment will be in Lewis Cemetery, Jordan Township. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Sunday, February 16, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
