Susanna “Susi” Rygh, age 65, of Monroe, died after a courageous battle with cancer over the last several years. Her kind heart beat for the last time October 28, 2020. She was born on December 26, 1954 in Winterthur, Switzerland, the daughter of Christian and Rosamarie (Baer) Badertscher. Susi moved to America when she was 3 years old with her family. She worked at Swiss Colony and most recently Monroe Cab Company. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington.

She enjoyed going to Switzerland frequently and took 2 of her children and a nephew on trips of their own as well. She liked to watch sports especially tennis and got to see (Swiss) Roger Fedderer in person at a match. Susi also enjoyed listening to Danny O’Donnell’s music and Swiss music.

Susi is survived by her children, Christopher Rygh of Milwaukee, Agatha (Jeremy) Wirtjes of Winslow, and Clark Rygh of Madison; granddaughter, Elizabeth Wirtjes; sister, Nelli McDermott; special nephews, Jeff and Brian McDermott; as well as many cousins in Switzerland that she visited many times.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a twin daughter, Amanda in infancy.

Per Susi’s wishes a private family service will be held, her ashes will be spread at Swiss Harbor. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
