Shannon Young Menehan, age 43, of Monroe passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  She was born on July 31, 1981 the daughter of John and Pamela (Young) Lakowske.  She graduated from Monroe High School in 1999.  After graduation she went on to receive her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Blackhawk Technical College. 

Shannon practiced as an LPN at different nursing homes throughout the Monroe area.  She enjoyed spending the summers outdoors, hiking and kayaking.  She also loved going to craft fairs and toy shows with her fiancé, Mike.

Shannon is survived by her fiancé, Mike Patterson; children, MacKenzee (Taylor Meir) Menehan and Carson (Shaylin Foster) Menehan; parents, John and Pamela Lakowske; step-son, Jaxon Patterson; siblings, Morgan (Roneil Haynes) Voegeli and Jake (Danika) Lakowske; nieces and nephews, Kennedy Voegeli, Sawyer Voegeli, and Maybellene Lakowske; and aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth Young and Barbara Burnham; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Lakowske.
