Sally M. Pooler age 76 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at her home. Sally was born on December 19, 1942 in Monroe, the daughter of Alvin A. and Laura (Behring) Kubly. She attended Argus Rural School, graduated from Monroe High School in 1960, attended Green County Teacher’s College, and earned a master’s degree from U.W. Platteville. She married Gary K. Pooler on December 28, 1963 in Albany. Following her marriage, Sally taught school in the Browntown, Woodford, and Darien, WI areas four years. Sally was employed as a secretary at East School and Parkside Elementary in Monroe for many years before retiring. She was a member at Union Presbyterian Church and enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning, sewing, and knitting. She also liked to play scrabble, cards, and passing time at the casino.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Pooler of Monroe; two sons, Tracy (Jacqueline) Pooler of Iron River, WI, and Brian Pooler (Laurie Robbe) of Monroe; three grandchildren, Cheyenne, Matthew, and Isaac; and a sister, Barbara Smith of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Kubly; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Smith.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Union Presbyterian Church, 2707 Fifth Street, Monroe, with Reverend Stacy Cavanaugh officiating. Sally’s family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Sally’s name c/o Brian Pooler, N4536 County Highway N, Monroe.
