Russell B. Atkinson, age 84 of Brodhead, died Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his son’s home. He was born on October 8, 1934, the son of Russell and Florence (Roderek) Atkinson in Albany. Russell was a 1952 graduate of Albany high school. He was united in marriage to Nancy J. Niedermeier on August 8, 1961 in Ft Worth, TX.

Russell honorably served in the US Navy. He worked at Warner Electric Brake in Rockton, IL for 35 years and retired in 2000. He enjoyed riding and making three wheeled motorcycles as well as hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Brodhead; his sons, Jake (Kathy) Atkinson and Craig Atkinson both of Brodhead; his grandchildren, Heather Atkinson of Janesville, Alyssa (Sean Petit) Atkinson of Whitewater, Austin (Ju-leah Wendtland) Atkinson of Brodhead, Dylan (Jackie Rowley) Atkinson of Brodhead, Zackary (Catie Wiezba) McManus of Muskego, Kourtney McManus of Brodhead; great grandchildren, Karys, Kayva, Miles and Malik (Russell’s little buddy); and sister, Kathleen (Loren) Riemer of Brodhead.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Delmar Atkinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Everson Funeral Home in Brodhead.
