Ron Loy
Ron Loy

Ron Loy, 84, died on March 31, surrounded by his loving family in his home in Monroe, WI. Ron was born in Loves Park on February 8, 1937, to Andrew and Marguerite Loy.

The youngest of four children, he left Illinois after enlisting in the Marines in 1954. He was stationed in San Diego and later San Francisco, CA. Ron married Kathleen (Hyland) Kuehl in 1982. He was a father to five children, William (Nancy), Kristy, Ronald (Kim), Melissa (Tim) Dix, and Elizabeth (Keith) Jurmu. His grandchildren brought him great joy and pride; Zachary (Jessica), Colin, Ethan, Kirstyn, Kailyn (Mason), Ashton, Keelee, Keelin, Kloee, Teagan, Liam, Marguerite, Madigan, and Adeline. Family was very important to Ron, and he gained seven brothers and five sisters when he married Kathie: Jim, Dick (Carolyn), Mickey, Tom (Barb), Terry (Lindsay), Tim (Chris), and John (Sharyn), all of the Hyland family. He was an uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews, who also brought him much happiness over the years, and was a very proud Godfather to Olivia Gardill. Ron also had a few honorary kids that he felt so fortunate to know and love: Mike Hysmith, Anna (Lineweaver) Sweeney, and Ashley Hyde.

He was preceded in death by so many he loved, and we are certain they will stand ready to greet him at the gates of heaven.

Ron’s stories and one-liners were legendary. The world was a better place with him in it, and he will be remembered fondly for his kind heart and compassionate ways.
