Robert Leland Heitz II, age 81, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Azura Memory Care. He was born the son of R. Leland and Edna Mavis (Baumgartner) Heitz on August 1, 1939. His “claim to fame” was being the first baby born at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe. He was a 1957 graduate of Monroe High School. Bob was united in marriage to Judith A. Daly on October 26, 1957 at St. Victor’s Catholic Church.

Bob worked at Swiss Colony for 28 years, prior to retiring in 2002 he also worked for Frito Lay and Advance Transformer; as well as farming. He was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge #754, Argyle Rod and Gun Club, and Ducks Unlimited. He was also a longtime member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor’s Catholic Church.

Bob is survived his wife of 63 years, Judie of Monroe; children, Robert L. (Diana) Heitz III of Argyle and Joseph (Rocio) Heitz of Mission, TX; 8 grandchildren, Josh Jacobs of Monroe, Tracey Coplien of Deforest, Robert L. Heitz IV of Belleville, Ashley Johnson of Ramona, CA, Sarah Dombrowski of Kronenwetter, WI, Kaitlyn Heitz of Clute, TX, Joseph Heitz II, Michael Heitz, and Diego Dominguez-Gongalez all of Mission, TX and Rodrigo Dominguez-Gongalez of Leone, Mexico; great-grandchildren, Alexander Polo and Braxton Gannon both of Deforest, Chloe and Jacob Rice, Caleb and William Johnson all of Ramona, CA, Levi Dombrowski of Kronenwetter, WI, Tillie and Willa Heitz and Robert L. Heitz V all of Belleville, Kyler and Kameron Stalker both of Clute, TX, and Maria Jose and Ana Paula of Leone, Mexico; and sisters, Gloria McGuire of Viroqua and Gail P. (special friend, Gary Partridge) Siebert of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Laura Coplien.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
