Raneé Lynn Kurschner, age 60 of Blanchardville died after a struggle with Cancer on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025 at the UW Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1964 in Monroe to Larry “Ron” and Vicki (Skaife) Kurschner. She grew up on the family farm in rural Blanchardville with her siblings and parents. Raneé was active in 4-H and Blanchardville Lutheran Church as a youth. She learned to play the flute, guitar and piano. She really enjoyed attending Lutherdale Bible Camp. She and Lonnie Krebs met in high school. They were married in 1980. Together they had four children, Erin, Erik, Joshua and Jordan. She worked hard supporting her family and the farm. She did a lot of cooking, baking and scrapbooking. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She never disagreed with her children, she always supported them. Raneé worked at CUNA, then Equifax, and then John Deere Financial, all in Madison. She loved supporting musicians by attending musicals and performances, including her daughter Erin, her brother Reginald, and many others. She was also supportive of all her children and grandchildren sporting events, and loved and looked forward to the Kurschner girls weekend getaways.
Raneé is survived by her three children, Erin (Jeff Johnston) Krebs of Appleton, Erik (Nicole Deckert) Krebs of rural Hollandale, and Jordan (Laura) Krebs of Monroe; six grandchildren, Levi, Charlie, Evelyn, Natalie, Noah, and Caleb Krebs; three brothers, Ron (Cherie) Kurschner of Blanchardville, Rodney (Jayne) Kurschner of Darlington, Reginald Kurschner of Milwaukee; and sister-in-law, Jessica Kurschner of Blanchardville; a special best friend Paula Hass of Verona; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Raneé was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Krebs; her parents; her siblings Roxanne, Rochelle, Roger and Ryan Kurschner; her grandparents, Milton & Wilma Skaife and Lester and Evelyn Kurschner.
The family would like to thank the staff at the TLC unit at the UW Hospital in Madison for their wonderful care.
A celebration of her life for all family and friends will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 12:30 until 4:30pm at Blanchard Hall at 204 South Main Street in Blanchardville. A private family graveside burial will be next to her son Joshua in the Old York Cemetery in rural Blanchardville.
