Patsy L. Gille, age 84, of Monroe, formerly of South Wayne and Gratiot, died on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Monroe Health Services surrounded by her family. Patsy was born on February 14, 1937 in Benton, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Clara (Symons) Henningsen. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1955 and married Donald Gille that same year. Patsy raised her children on the Gille home farm in rural Gratiot and was employed at Microswitch in Warren, IL for 35 years until retiring.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gratiot and had many hobbies and passions which included baking, collecting teddy bears, following high school sports and watching Brett Favre and the Packers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, having get-togethers with her work friends, stopping at the casino, and had a special place in her heart for her dog (Tippy) and cat (Dewey). Everyone who knew Patsy knows the she was a huge Charley Pride fan. She knew Charley personally through attending many of his performances.

Patsy is survived by four children, Debbie (Mick Singer) Gille of Machesney Park, IL, Mary Lou (Rob) Schultz of Merrimac, WI, Lauri Ann (Larry) Erickson of Argyle, Kevin (Lauri) Gille of South Wayne; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many close family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Tim Gille; grandson, Eric Singer; an infant granddaughter and great grandson; and other close family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gratiot, with Father Sudhakar Devarapu officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, May 27, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Patsy’s name. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
