Patricia J. (Hansen) Lyle, age 89, of Janesville passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. She was born the daughter of Anker Ernest and Violet Josephine (Anderson) Hansen on September 4th, 1935 in Janesville. Pat was a 1953 graduate of Evansville High School and was united in marriage to Curtis Theodore Lyle on October 31st, 1953.
Pat will certainly be remembered for her hard working, selfless and loving personality. She loved to cook, which was a blessing for her nine children. She and Curt owned and operated The Village Inn restaurant in Albany. She then turned her love of cooking into positions at Parkside Lodge and Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed being outdoors: watching the birds and butterflies. She loved soaking in the sun by the pond or with her toes in the sand at her favorite beach. She had an unwavering love for Pandas (Thank you, Jerry) making it impossible to see one and not think of her. She cherished her former Parkside coworkers, turned lifelong friends and always looked forward to their monthly luncheons. She was a symbol of strength and unconditional love to all of us. Her family was the single most important part of her life and she cherished every moment she spent with them. She was a wonderful soul who brightened the lives of all who crossed her path.
Pat is survived by her children; Valerie (Rick) Blumer of Albany, WI, LuAnn Erdman of Belmond, IA, Brad Lyle of Albany, WI, Paula Lyle of Janesville, WI, Shane (Stacy) Lyle of Waunakee,WI, Cory (Sara) Lyle of Janesville, WI; Son-in-law, Tom Zink of Cedar Falls, IA; Daughter-in-laws, Robin Lyle and Kris Lyle. She was also a beloved grandma to: Michael (Beth) Zink and Tyson Zink; Jason (Emily) Lyle and Melissa Lyle; Brooke (Adam) Cole, Tiffany (Bryce) Broughton and Nik (Tara) Blumer; Caleb (Jessie) Lyle and Jake Lyle; Trisha (Tim) Tegland and Trevor (Brandon Bergett) Erdman; Miranda (Ray Farley) Alexander, Garrett Alexander and JT Alexander; MacKenzie Lyle, Alec Lyle, Sam Rod and Taylor Rod; Colton Lyle and Eden Lyle; Raven (Jeffrey) DeLange, Trenton Lyle and Amanda Schmieder-Smith. Pat was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren; Madison, Kenna, Kyra, MaKayla, Madilyn, Nathan, Daphne, Dane, Ian, Devin, Kylee, Hayden, Liam, Charleigh, Sloane, Kota, Kye, Jaxson, Shaela, Alaynna, Emersyn and Creed. Sister-in-law, Jean Hansen; nephews: David, Tom and Bob Hansen; niece, Cathy Cerutti; and special relative Joann (Daryl) Disch.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Anker and Josie Hansen; brother, Jerry; sister, Beverly, in infancy; her husband, Curt; daughter, Pamela Zink; two sons: Jeffery and Kim Lyle; son-in-law Philip Erdman and an infant granddaughter in 1976.
A Memorial Service will be held at Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home Janesville, WI on Friday, October 11, 2024. Visitation 10:00 am Service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Norwegian Cemetery Albany, WI. The family asks that you join them for a celebration of her life and legacy following the cemetery service at the Albany Lions Club.
