Norman Jay Wells, age 54, of Monroe, died on Monday, May 3, 2021 unexpectedly in his sleep. He was born on September 9, 1966 in Monroe, the son of Jean Abegglen.
Norman was a huge John Wayne fan, was an avid sports enthusiast, Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Bulls; but his greatest joy was being grandpa. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading and learning about history and U.S. wars.
Norman and Vicki opened their home as a sanctuary for anyone in need. They never judged anyone’s situation, they would simply open their heart and home to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his significant other, Vicki of Monroe; children: Amanda (fiancé, Mickey Vaade) Wells, Wendy (Justin Eicher) Wells, Ian Wells, Casey (fiancé, Matthew Thompson) Wells all of Monroe; grandchildren, Terry, Dontae, Taleaha, Matty and first granddaughter, Melody expected in August.
Norman was preceded in death by his mother, and his younger brother, Terry Lee Wells.
