Nicki “Nick” Layne Grinnell, 64, of Freeport, passed away, Thursday July 18, 2024. Nick was born February 29, 1960, in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Lloyd and Darlene (Pagel) Grinnell. Mr. Grinnell was a graduate of Monroe High School. He earned his Associate Degree from Blackhawk Technical College (Wisconsin), Bachelor of Science from University of Chicago and his Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Tennessee. Nick enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, riding both his bicycle and motorcycle, fishing, playing tennis, and listening to music.

 Survivors include his son, Jeremy Hardin of Arkansas; siblings, Steve and Daren; grandchildren, Kane and Rachel Hardin; and great grandchildren, Alexander and Braxton.

 Nick was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cheri; brother, Paul; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Cora Grinnell and maternal grandparents, Ruben and Peggy Pagel.

 Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday July 27, 2024 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery (Monroe, Wisconsin). A memorial has been established in his memory.
