Milo F. Whitehead, age 82 of Monroe passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on October 10. 1938 in Winslow, Illinois, the son of Maurice and Anna (Clark) Whitehead. He graduated from Brodhead High School in 1957. Milo married Barbara K. Leuzinger on January 17, 1960 in Monticello. He was a truck driver for several different companies, retiring from Allied Motor System in 2003. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Loyal Order of the Moose, he enjoyed camping, bowling and occasionally golfing. Milo also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson and loved to go for rides.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of 61 years; daughters, Marcy (Steve Kubly) Hunt of Monroe and Jolene (Jim Teach) Whitehead of Monroe; 4 grandchildren: Kira Cowan, Christina Strait, Kari (Rick) Cook and Melissa Leu; 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Rodney, Stanley, and Wendell; a sister, Clara Waelti.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Milo’s name to either Moose Heart or Moose Haven.
