Michael James Parker, age 63, of Monticello went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 17, 2023 at home.  He was born on September 6, 1960 the son of James and Joyce (Broadstone) Parker.  He graduated from Limestone High School in 1978, where he was class President.  He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Human Relations from Judson College in Elgin, IL.   Michael also received his Masters in Divinity from Northern Seminary.  In April of 1990 Michael married the love of his life Pamela Muralt in Freeport, IL. 

Michael was a Pastor, teacher and youth director serving in Juda, Evansville, and New Glarus.  He also worked at Net Technologies as an Account Executive.  He enjoyed gardening and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.  Above all else Michael lived for the Lord, his children, and grandchildren.  He was a member of the New Glarus Bible Church and the Albany Lions Club. 

Michael is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Nathan (Sydnei) Parker of Monroe, Grant (Samantha) Parker of Madison, Reed (Morgan) Parker of Abilene, TX, Ava (Nick Neviaser) Parker of Sauk City, Shaianna (Mack Gapinski) Parker of Sun Prairie, Leon Parker of Monticello, Kamron Parker of Monticello, and Sarah (Jonathan) Ragan of Monroe; grandchildren, Emma, Ben, and Jackson Parker, and Andrew, Griffin, and Oliver Ragan; several foster children; and brothers, Timothy Parker of Alton, IL and Mark Parker of Chicago, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the New Glarus Bible Church with Pastor Darrell Boomer.  Burial will follow at GAP Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the New Glarus Bible Church.  SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michael’s name to the New Glarus Bible Church’s Awana Program. 

His life’s mission was to share the love of his Savior Jesus Christ and to invite others into a personal and saving relationship with the Lord.
