Mary Ellen Edenhauser, age 73, of Monticello was called to eternal life on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the UW Hospital in Madison.  She was born on August 14, 1951 the daughter of Donald and Evelyn (Karloff) Peterson in Conde, SD.  She graduated from Clark High School in 1969.  After high school Mary went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in education in 1974 from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.  Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth Edenhauser on October 17, 1982 in Collins, WI.

Mary was a school teacher at St. Peter Lutheran School in Collins, WI from 1974-1982, she then went on to teach at St. Paul Lutheran School in Bloomer, WI.  She was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Monroe.  Mary enjoyed collecting things and traveling.  She loved her Lord and sharing him with children. 

Mary is survived by her husband Ken of Monticello; aunt, Muriel Young; God-daughter, Amanda Sukowaty; God-Son, Mathew Marnell; and nieces and nephews, Karen Edenhauser, Karen (Mike) Marnell, and Sue (Bob) Joorfetz. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Reginald Peterson, and Del Ray, and Deloy in infancy; sister-in-law, Frances Peterson; brother-in-law, Gerhard Edenhauser; and nephews, Gregory and Douglas Edenhauser.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Schupmann officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, at a later date. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time service at the church.  Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.  Memorials may be given in Mary’s name to Resurrection Lutheran Church.
