Marilyn Jean Benson Holcomb, age 89 of New Glarus passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the New Glarus Home.  She was born on April 11, 1933 in Dodgeville, WI the daughter of Harvey and Berniece (Shackley) Skews.  Marilyn attended the Equal Rights Rural School and Mineral Point grade school and high school.  Marilyn married Leslie Benson on November 23, 1949 in Mineral Point, and she later married Donald Holcomb on February 14, 1994 in Monroe, WI.  Marilyn worked as a sales clerk at the dress shop on the square in Monroe and also was a sales representative for Avon for over thirty-five years. 

Marilyn is survived by her children Carol (Richard) Long, Dennis (Michelle) Benson, Jerry (Sherrie) Benson, and Terri (Kevin Wyss) Benson, grandchildren Nicole, Brad, Kevin, Jerry Lee, Chantal, Gabrielle, Danielle, Travis, Matthew, Jonathon, and Jeremiah, great-grandchildren Bailey, Memphis, Emerson, Isla, Dominic, Myles, Marissa, Jaylynn, Karson, Kyler, Kyton, Phoenix, Gage, and Isabelle.  She is further survived by a sister Shirley Blank, brother-in-law Roger Holmes, close friend Doug Jones, step-brother and step-sister-in-law Ronald and Judy Holcomb, step-children Daniel (Deb) Holcomb, Shirley (Curt) Soddy, and Julie (Jason) Rupnow, step-grandchildren Adam, Darrell, Duwayne, Emily, and Garret.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Holcomb, son Dale Benson, granddaughter Jennifer Benson, great-grandson Kylan Benson, sister Dena Holmes, brother-in-law Robert Blank, and step-son Dennis Holcomb.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.  Burial will be in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
