Lovice K. Schmitz, age 63 of Monroe died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on July 7, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Jeanine (Jarvis) DiCicco. She graduated from Bucks County High School in Pennsylvania. Lovice married Mark P. Schmitz on October 15, 1977 in DesPlains, Illinois. She worked at the Bakery at Swiss Colony for 20 years. She attended Monroe Bible Church, she was a Cub’s fan; Lovice was very creative and enjoyed painting, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her father, Leonard DiCicco of Woodstock, IL; husband, Mark of Monroe; children: Ruth (Tom) Maurer of Monroe, and son, Mark (Alison) Schmitz Jr. of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren: Rachel Maurer, Caleb, Katelyn, Eli, and Nolan Schmitz; brother, Leonard (Sheryl) DiCicco of Woodstock, IL; sisters: Nancy (Bruce) Koop of McHenry, IL and Katie (James) Karin of Savanh, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanine DiCicco and sister, Karen DiCicco.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 8, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
