BRODHEAD – Lois M. Harvey, age 85, passed away on February 21, 2021 at Collinwood Memory Care after her long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Lois was born on November 22, 1935 in Clay County Illinois, the daughter of Sharon and Rachel (Mascher) Crouse. She graduated from Newton High School and then was introduced to the love of her life John L. Harvey and were then married on June 12, 1954.

They started their farming life together in Jasper Co. Illinois until 1963 when they moved to Orfordville, WI to continue dairy farming. In 1971 they moved to their current farm in rural Brodhead, WI. She was a highly active farm wife of the daily farm operations and spent many hours on a tractor. When she was not on a tractor in the fields, she could be found working in the garden preparing for the upcoming canning season. In her free time, her and John enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, Saturday night dances, and more so Lois than John in golfing.

 Lois is survived by her husband of 66 years, John and 3 daughters, Rosemary S. Olson (Monte Ortman) Stoughton, WI, Diane L. Sedbrook (Terry) Brodhead, WI, and Gerri Jo Harvey (Chris Olson) Juda, WI. Further survived by 7 grandchildren Michael Olson (Jamie) Brodhead, WI, Chantel Malkow, Brodhead, WI, Georgia Grossen (Mark) Janesville, WI, Tyler Sedbrook, Sun Prairie, WI., Courtney Sedbrook, Juda, WI, Casey Gunser, Argyle, WI, Jordan Gunser (Liz), South Wayne, WI.; 8 Great-grandchildren Chesnie, Chase and Channing Wilhite all of Brodhead, WI, Ella and Isaac Olson of Brodhead, Garrett and Everett Grossen of Janesville, WI, and Jaxson Lee Gunser of South Wayne, WI. She is also survived by 2 brothers Maynard and Ray (Sherry) Crouse and 2 sisters Joann Cook Galloway and Patti Williams, all of Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Sharon and Rachel Crouse, and 2 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Due to COVID 19, cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held.

The family wishes to thank the loving and kind staff of Collinwood Memory Care that were by Lois’s side caring for her during her illness. Thank you to Agrace Hospice during this trying time.
