In God’s providence, Lee Patrick Dunn has gone home to be with our savior. Our sadness is met with joy and confidence that he is no longer suffering. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea.” Psalms 46:1-2
Lee was born in Monroe, WI. He graduated from South Wayne High School in 1964. While in Wisconsin; he farmed, worked for Tri State Breeders and for West Agro Chemical. He moved his family to Florida in 1980. Lee married Linda on December 30, 2000. Lee was a master cabinet maker. He worked for his father, eventually owning Dovetail Cabinets and later, establishing his own business, Projects by Lee, LLC. He also worked as a private security officer.
Lee, “The Grizz” was an avid motorcyclist and he and his wife Linda enjoyed many adventures on his Harley Davidson. He cherished his family, gardening, scuba diving, boating, being a boy scout leader, teaching rifle use and safety. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, treasurer of the Fort Myers Gun Club, and an avid trap shooter and gun collector.
Lee is survived by his wife Linda (Forbus) Dunn, his sons: Shannon Lee, Jesse Lee (Tara), and Ashley Lee (Tabatha). His step children: Nicole (Kenny Massengill) Walker, Andrew Ehsaei (Alissa Pellack), and Chris (Autumn)Ehsaei. His grandchildren: Christopher, Wyatt, Kayla, Logan, Liam and seven great-grandchildren. His siblings: Sonja Mary (David) Wiegel of Shullsburg, WI., John Elmer (Betty) Dunn and Mark Rodney (Cheryl) Dunn of Cape Coral, FL., and Terry James (Julie) Dunn of Gratiot, WI.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Lillian (Berget) Dunn, on February 10, 2022; his father John Patrick Dunn on July 15, 2007; and his brother Tom Patrick on June 02, 1973.
Lee was a happy, good natured, honest, hardworking man. We will remember him for his sense of humor, love for family, and his unwavering faith. “His faith is now sight, seeing what no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor the heart of man has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Cor 2:9
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Rev 21:4
A memorial mass and burying of Lee’s ashes is tentatively planned for September 6th at Saint John’s Catholic Church in South Wayne, WI.
