Keith O. Lancaster, age 79 of rural Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Lafayette county manor. He was born November 24, 1940 in Darlington the son of Orville and Esther (Thompson) Lancaster. Keith graduated from Darlington High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1967 until 1973. Keith lived and farmed in Lamont Township with his brother, Phil, until his retirement in 2000.

Keith is survived by his brother: Phillip (Carolyn) Lancaster of rural Darlington; and his sister: Eulala Heimstead of Madison, WI. and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Kenneth Lancaster in 1940; and one brother-in-law: Robert Heimstead in 1987.

Keith was a member of Lamont United Methodist Church and served on its church council for many years. He was a member of Bates-O’Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. Keith loved to hunt, fish and snowmobile at his cabin up North. He enjoyed reading, working in his flower and vegetable gardens, doing yard work and making an assortment of wine from rhubarb, raspberries and grapes.

A private funeral service will be held at Lamont United Methodist Church in rural Darlington, with Rev. Paul Gregersen officiating. A public visitation will be held for Keith on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington). Burial will be in Lamont Cemetery in rural Darlington with military rites to be accorded by Bates-O’Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington.
