Katherine F. Ault, age 97 of Monroe, died on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Katherine was born on February 26, 1924 in Juda, the daughter of Julius and Anna (Kaergel) Friedrich. She attended Riley Rural School and graduated from Juda High School in 1941. She was employed as the Classified Advertisement Manager at the Monroe Evening Times from 1944 until 1966. Katherine married Clifton C. Ault on November 12, 1966 in Monroe. The couple owned and operated Cliffstone Antiques at their home on County Trunk B for several years while Katherine worked part time for the City of Monroe. Katherine and Clifton moved to Colt, Arkansas in 1986. Following Clifton’s death in 1990, Katherine worked at Wal-Mart in Forrest City, AR for ten years before moving back to Monroe in 2001. Katherine was a life-long and active member of the New Apostolic Church in Monroe and Beloit.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Carter of Monroe; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Damien) Paar of Browntown, Justin Douglas, Bradley Deary, both of Monroe; and a greatgrandson, Remington Hilt of Brodhead.
In addition to her husband, Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Charlotte Rhynders; brother, Bernard Friedrich; and an infant sister, Elsie Friedrich.
