Julie K. Trumpy

Age 59, of Monticello, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Julie was born on October 13, 1962 in Monroe, the daughter of Glenn and Verna (Ostby) Smith. She graduated from New Glarus High School and married Donnie Trumpy on March 16, 1985 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. Following their marriage, Julie and Don farmed in Washington Township for several years. Julie worked as a manager at the Monroe Walmart Subway and most recently was employed in housekeeping at the New Glarus Home. She also relished acting as an Independent Scentsy Consultant for several years. Julie will be remembered as someone that was always willing to help others. She and Donnie enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and taking Harley trips. She loved to cook, bake, and spend time outdoors doing yard work.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Trumpy of Monticello; mother, Verna Smith of Monroe; sister, Glenda (Dick) Yaun of Monroe; brother, Paul (Laura) Smith of Argyle; and nieces and nephews. She is further survived by sister-in-law, Beth Hellwig of Brodhead; brother-in-law, Dale (Ann) Trumpy of Monticello; and special fur babies, Shasta, Munchie, Honda, and Harlie. She was preceded in death by her father; in-laws, Floyd and Elaine Trumpy; sister-in-law, Linda Trumpy; and two brothers-in-law, David Trumpy and Johnny Hellwig.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 11, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Julie’s name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
