Joyce Katherine Stauffer, age 90, of Browntown passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the SSM Health Hospice Home. She was born the daughter of John and Alice (Babler) Stauffacher on November 2, 1934 in Monroe. She was a 1952 graduate of Monroe High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Robert J. Stauffer on March 21, 1959 at The Little Brown Church in Iowa. 

Joyce worked for the Monroe Clinic from 1952-1967, as well as 10 years at Swiss Colony. She was a longtime member of Peace Church in Christ in Browntown. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafts, and bowling.

Joyce is survived by her children, Joy Trumble of Monroe, Jayne (Randy) Howald of Forreston, IL, Jim Stauffer of Browntown, Jeff Stauffer of Monroe, and Julie (Steve) Gottschalk of DeForest; six grandchildren, Brooke (Rob) Henderson, Marcy and Bruce Trumble, Austin, Hans, and Maxwell Howald; 1 great-grandson, Sawyer Trumble; and 1 step-great-grandson, Connor Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sisters, Jane Ault and Janet Monahan; and sister Lois Olson.

Per family, no services will be held.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to shgfuneralhome.net. 

Please make donation to Black Hawk FFA in her name, she loved to farm and she loved that school.

The children find solace in knowing God knows the Truth and will punish those unrighteous that over stepped their bounds—good fences make good neighbors!
