Johntey Ray Swenson, best friend and ladies’ man, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Johntey was known for being the life of the party, his contagious energy, and his unforgettable dance moves. As the youngest of five and the only boy, he embraced his title as ‘little brother’ proudly. He taught his sisters things like shadow boxing and wrestling and they made sure he knew every word to Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’. His love for them was immeasurable, and he brought laughter (and annoyance) into their lives in a way only a little brother could.
Johntey’s limitless love for his mom and dad was apparent, he rarely left without a hug or saying “I love you”. Likewise, Karen and Steve’s love for their son was abundant and knew no bounds. His energy and big ideas always kept them on their toes and was likely the cause for a few grey hairs.
One of Johntey’s other passions was fighting, from backyard boxing to MMA. He spent countless hours at the gym training and would spar with anyone willing to “put some money on it”. He had quick hands and a loud mouth and was up for any challenge. He fought his first cage match right after High School graduation and was eager to get back in the ring.
Music was another love of his life, especially his freestyles. If there was a speaker and a beat then you knew it was time for, at minimum, an hour-long studio sesh.
Johntey was loved by so many; his friends would describe him as loving, hilarious and an amazing person to be around. He always made sure everyone felt included and never judged anyone. “Everybody loved Johntey and everybody loved being friends with Johntey because of his amazing sense of humor and his sweet soul.”
Johntey recently reunited with his birth family and loved going to Milwaukee to visit and have a great time. He loved to record songs, dance and just spread love to everyone. He will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 24 from 1-4 p.m. at Koning Maple Lane Event Center, N3051 WI- HWY 81, Monroe, WI 53566. Drinks and Food will be provided.
