John A. Trout, age 79, of Monroe, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 peacefully at his home in Monroe from Mesothelioma. John’s greatest pleasures in life were his loving wife of 50 plus years, family, friends, telling jokes, antique cars and working on them, playing cards on the computer, and sitting in his rocking chair outside, waving at people. His favorite pass time was visiting and could do that for hours.

You may have known John from working with him at Advance Transformer, farming, over the road trucking, salvage yard, bowling, or the Blackhawk Cruisers Car Club with our ’55 Chevy step-side pickup.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-mother, May; brother, Michael; son, Bill; daughters, Gwendolyn and Jody in infancy; and step-brother, James Caukins.

John is survived by his wife, Judy (Mama) of Monroe, son, Joel Trout of Madison; daughter, Mary Anne (Dave) Hoftender of Scales Mounds, IL; brother, Rodger (Carolyn) Trout of LaHarpe, IL; 3 granddaughters; 2 great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews, Jamie (Jessie) Ammann, Brandie (Eric) Yingst, Shane Niffenegger, Amber (Kam) Peterson and Michael Wilde; other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends; and his dog, Tucker.

Due to current health restrictions for Covid, a Celebration of John’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to Judy Trout, 1204 31st St. Monroe, WI 53566.
