Joey (Heath) Johns, age 43 of Sweetwater, TN, formerly of Monroe, WI, passed in his sleep due to an underlying health condition on August 17, 2021. Joey was born August 25, 1977 to Jessie Johns Sr. and Phyllis McLoud at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Joey attended Brodhead and Monroe schools as a kid. He enjoyed watching Nascar and Green Bay Packer Football. Cooking was a passion of his, he worked at several restaurants throughout his life and one day dreamed of having one of his own. He loved hanging out with friends and family. He loved to be free and have a good time.
Joey is survived by his mother, Phyllis McLoud of Monroe; father, Robert McLoud Sr. of South Wayne; son, Matthew (Casey Wells) Thompson of Monroe; grandchildren, Matthew Thompson the 2nd and Melody Lynn-Ann Thompson; brothers, Phil (Rhonda) Johns of Monroe, Bobby (Jennifer) McLoud of Monroe, Richard (Malisa) McLoud of Monticello and Steven (Heather) McLoud of Monroe; sister, Tina (Donnie) Lepper of Monroe; nieces and nephews, Ali, Raegen, Makenzie, Tyler, Natalie, Blake, Brayden, Landen and Leah; grandmother, Fran McLoud of Stoughton; as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins and a group of very close friends considered to be like brothers.
Joey is preceded in death by his father, Jessie Johns Sr.; grandfather, Merle McLoud; uncle, Ron Housewart; aunt, Melody Von Allman and life-long friend, Donny Graves.
Joey was cremated in Knoxville, TN and his remains were brought home to Monroe, WI where he can continue to bring us all happiness and watch over us from above. He will be seriously missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He always knew how to light up a room and make people laugh with his contagious sense of humor. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at one of Joeys favorite places to hang out.
