Joanne M. Sellnow, age 82, of the Albany area passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on September 27, 1936 the daughter of Byron and Mable (Anderson) Stephenson in Green County. Joanne was united in marriage to Ralph J. Sellnow on September 17, 1955 at the Albany United Methodist Church.

Over the course of several decades, Joanne owned and operated her own beauty shop where local women and men came for her skillful technique and trusted ear.  She was a member of the Albany Baptist Church and the Homemaker’s Club. Many memories were made at Grandma Joanne’s and Grandpa Ralph’s house.  No matter the mess or shenanigans, her greatest joy was to have her children and grandchildren gather for fishing, playing, Sunday night pizza, and family fun.

She is survived by her children, Shelley (Claire) Pryce of Albany, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Sellnow of Monroe, Lisa (David) Leutenegger of Oregon, and Jason (Becki) Sellnow of Franklin, WI; grandchildren, Brandi, Aaron, Chase, Kyleigh, Joel, Brett, Taylor (Becka) and Treavor (Minji); great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lily, Sawyer, and Josephine; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Stephenson.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Dolores Frehner; brother-in-law, Fred Frehner and brother, Douglas Stephenson.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE funeral home with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant.

Visitation will be October 14th from 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 at the funeral home.
