James “Jim” Lee Grinnell

James “Jim” Lee Grinnell, age 58, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Jim was born the son of Nathan Gene and Betty Jane (Vicker) Grinnell on May 23, 1962 in Monroe. He was a 1980 graduate of Monroe High School. Jim was united in marriage to Mary Brown on October 6, 1984; together they had two children.

Jim worked at Kuhn North America in Brodhead and Advance Transformer in Monroe for many years. Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson; he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring cars. Jim was a “handy man” he could build or fix nearly anything.

Jim is survived by his former wife, Mary Grinnell; children, Megan (Chris) Childers and Jacob (fiancé, Jolene DeNure) Grinnell; one granddaughter, Lillian; father, Nathan Gene (Sandra) Grinnell; sister, Betty Jean (Pat) Metz; brother, Gene (Rita) Grinnell; numerous nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Grinnell.

Private family services will be held at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will take place in Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacob’s SWAG Foundation, jacobsswag.org or mail to 2222 6th St. Monroe, WI 53566.
