Ione June Skattum, age 95, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Azura Memory Care. She was born the daughter of Henry and Lillie (Falk) Petersen on June 28, 1926 in Brooklyn Township. She attended Albany schools and was a graduate of Evansville High School. Ione was united in marriage to Robert L. Skattum on March 30, 1947 in Monroe; he preceded her in death on January 4, 1972.

Ione was an accountant for Swiss Colony for over 20 years before her retirement. After she retired, she continued working as a secretary and bookkeeper at Monroe United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Robert S. (Patricia) of Liberty Lake, WA, Mark H. (Laura) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jon A. Skattum of Melbourne, FL; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L.; and sisters, Ruth Patton and Alice Petersen.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
