Helen L. Spring
Heyer Anvil Cloud at Sunset

Helen L. Spring, age 88, of Madison formerly of Monroe passed away on Friday, January, 13, 2023 at the UW Hospital in Madison. She was born June 19, 1934, daughter of John and Anna (Egger) Spring. After graduation from Monroe High School in 1952 she was employed at United Telephone Company.  Upon moving to Madison she worked for the State of Wisconsin offices advancing from Clerk II to Account Examiner III.  She then took a leave, did temporary jobs and traveled to Switzerland in 1982 and 1983.  Her last employment was legal assistant to a lawyer.

She loved to knit and sew; she also enjoyed doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.  As a member of RSVP she knit over 500 pairs of children’s mittens plus scarves and hats.  Her greatest thrill was her trips to Switzerland.

She is survived by extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lorence Spring.

Her year book adage by her photo read “whatever she does, she does well.”  Helen practiced it all her life being a very diligent worker.

Per her wishes, she will be privately laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home assisted with her services.
