Harvey H. Bauman, of Monroe, formerly of Juda, completed his circle of life at the SSM Monroe Hospice Home on August 13, 2024 at the age of 88 years.

Harvey was born on October 21, 1935 and lived in rural Juda. He graduated from Juda High School in 1953 where he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. After graduation, he purchased a farm in rural Juda. Harvey and Louise married on January 19, 1957 at the Zion Church in Juda. He took great pride in attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sports, never missing a game or school event. His family was his most important accomplishment. After moving from the farm into Juda in 1979, Harvey enjoyed working for Newman Seed and Feed, Juda Plumbing, Davis Implement, and Chalet Cheese. He served on the Juda School Board, Green County Board, and was a faithful member of the Juda Zion Community Church where he was the church financial officer and custodian for many years.

Harvey was the beloved husband, friend, and high school sweetheart to Louise (Gruenewald) for 67 years. Also the father of Kathy (John) Broger of Juda, Harvey T. Bauman of Monroe, and Karen (Steve) Dunwiddie of Juda. He is the proud grandfather of Kelly Hasler, Sara (Kari Phillips) Hasler, Melissa (Kyle) DeNure, Michelle Broger, Brad (Allison) Dunwiddie, Matt (Chantel) Dunwiddie, and Lauren Nelson. His greatgrandchildren are Dash and Cruz DeNure, Annie, Clara, and Crew Dunwiddie, Keaton Nelson. He is further survived by his siblings, Roger (Doreen) Bauman, Virgil (Joanne) Bauman; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends; brother-in-law, Jake (Vivian) Gruenewald; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Bauman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Della (Foulker) Bauman; sister, Nancy Zimmerman and brother-in-law, Roger Zimmerman; brother, Russell Bauman; and in-laws, Jacob and Evelyn Gruenewald.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., at Juda Zion Community Church with Pastor Kelly Jahn officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the             NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Memorials in Harvey’s name will help to establish a Juda High School Scholarship for students pursuing a degree in nursing. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
