Harry A. Scace, age 75 of Gratiot, WI, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at home. He was born March 12, 1944 in Shullsburg, WI the son of Austin Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Mullen) Scace. As a child Harry lived with the Heintz Dryer family where he attended school until 10th grade and worked as a farm hand. Harry worked as a Truck Driver for various trucking companies in the Lafayette county area throughout his life. On April 29, 2000 Harry married Mary Kaye Metz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He worked for many years helping farmers with their harvest and enjoyed his days on the farm with his wife Mary Kaye.

Harry is survived by seven children: Gary (Jeanne) Scace of Monticello, WI, Michael Scace of Monticello, WI, Peggy (Denny) Blumer of New Glarus, WI, Connie (Tim) Maupin of Apple River, IL, Robert Scace of Stoughton, WI, Shianne (Dan) Martinson of New Glarus and Kim (Kevin) Dunham of New Glarus; two step-children: Cindy (James) Howard of Albany, WI and Jeff (Teresa) Metz of Gratiot; three former Step-Children: Travis (Janniel) Smith of Browntown, WI, Lydia (Daryl) Lattin of Monroe, WI and Eileen Fritag of Monroe; two brothers: Sam Scace of Monticello, WI and Harold Scace of Elizabeth, IL; four sisters: Joyce Bradbury of Portland, OR, Corlyn (Todd) Rutter of Springfield, IL, Thora (David) Bradbury of Cedarville, IL and Virginia (David) Kenter of Freeport, IL; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Harry is preceded by death by his parents; stepfather, Shirl Hillard;one daughter Pamela Schimgen; four brothers: Stanley, Eddy, Charles and Steven Scace; two sisters: Lorraine Bardell and Julie Bear.

Harry had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his dogs and good friends. He also enjoyed riding horses, playing with his cats, watching Nascar Races and sporting events. Harry had a deep faith in the Lord. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Harry will be held Friday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00A.M. at The Evangelical Free Church in Gratiot (Evangelical Free Church 5605 Main St., Gratiot, WI 53541) with Rev. Glenn Andes officiating. Burial will be in Gratiot M.E. Cemetery. A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4:00P.M.-8:00P.M. at the Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington, WI (Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Main St. Darlington, WI 53530) and Friday, January 3, 2020 from 10:00A.M. – 10:45 A.M. at the church.
