Harris A. Meyers, age 91 of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Monroe Health Services. He was born the son of Arthur and Thelma (Anderson) Meyers on February 8, 1929 in Monroe. Harris was united in marriage to Carol Reuter on April 27, 1957.

Harris was a lifelong, dedicated dairy farmer, retiring in 1994. He took pride in his farm and working the land; he was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors during harvest season. He was a former member of Stateline Square Dancers and the Monroe Police Reserves for 40 years. He also served as secretary and treasurer for the Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery and Green County Cheese Co-Op for many years. Harris was also a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing cards and polka dancing; he was a family man and cared deeply for those in his life.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Neuenschwander and Bruce Meyers both of Monroe; two grandchildren, Bailey (Shannon) Landphier and Sierra (Phil) Sutter; one great-granddaughter, Ella Caroline; sisters, Luanna Wels and LaVonne Prien both of Monroe; sister-in-law, Dorothy Meyers; and many dear nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; two brothers, Stanley (Ruth) Meyers, Dale Meyers, and one brother in infancy; brothers-in-law, Joseph Wels and Don Prien.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held, burial will take place in Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery. A Celebration of Harris’ Life will be held at a later date.
