Gerald “Jerry” Gene Hilfiker, age 81, of Monroe passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020. He was born the son of Leo and Johanna (Reinmann) Hilfiker, Sr. on May 12, 1939 in Monroe. Jerry grew up on the family farm in rural Monroe. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Monroe High School. He was united in marriage to Kay L. Wolfe on June 2, 1962; they shared 48 years of marriage together until her passing on October 11, 2010.
Jerry started his working career at the Huber Brewing Company and later worked for Crandall’s Tire Service. He then went on to retire from Moore Business forms after 36 years of dedicated work.
In his younger years, Jerry, enjoyed boxing and even earned the Golden Glove Champ title. He also liked miniature golf, bowling, cars, especially the 1949 Mercury, gambling and traveling extensively throughout the United States. Jerry also loved holiday family gatherings with his family. He most recently had been attending Hope Community Church in Monroe.
Jerry is survived by his fiancé, Brenda Leuzinger, whom he shared seven wonderful years with; daughters, Shelly (Eric Kuehl) Raisbeck and Kelly (Doug) Hilliard; grandchildren, Nicole (Tommy) Mullikin, Matt Raisbeck, Nick (Ashley) Rieder and Kris Rieder; great-grandchildren, Kaylin, J.T., Peyton, and Sawyer; twin-brother, Gene (Nelda) Hilfiker and their daughter, Jennifer; sister, Shirley Mauler and her children, Mike and Brenda; sisters-in-law, Tracy (Dale) Amacher and Nancy (Bob) Barth. He is further survived by his extended family, Brenda’s children, Jason (Pam) Williams, Danielle (John) Maurer, and Jared Williams; grandchildren, Tanner, Jacob, Lukas, Shayna (Zach), Gavin, Grant, Maddie, Morgan (Brandson), Seth, Connor, Braden, and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Emmitt, Kayden, Easton, and Jaxson; special nephew, Kyle (Tracey) Amacher and children, Liam, Kohen, and Hudson; and special niece, Brittany (Robbie Sawyer) Amacher and children, McKenna, Keaton, and Hailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Leo Hilfiker, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Karl Mauler.
