Elizabeth A. “Betty” Bauman age 72, of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Betty was born on May 14, 1947 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Fred and Evelyn (Huber) Hardt. She graduated from Delavan Darien High School in 1965 and married Walter B. Bauman on April 15, 1989 in Winona, MN. Betty worked at Colony Brands for 42 years and also was employed by TDS and Whitehead Specialties before retiring in 2017. She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church where she served on the open-door committee, service team, and the prayer chain. She enjoyed flower gardening, attending southern gospel music concerts, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband, Walter Bauman of Monroe; a son, Robert J. (Denise) Heiligenthal of Sheboygan; a daughter, Brenda Hofer (Phillip Seston), of New Glarus; two grandsons, Tylor Heiligenthal and Tanner Hofer; two greatgrandchildren, Avery and Jionni; a sister, Janet Hardt of East Troy, WI; Jenny Fox and her children, Taylor, Anya (deceased), Bella, and Sebastian; and Robert Zumkehr, who were all considered part of Betty’s family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Nancy Heiligenthal; and the father of her children, Robert H. Heiligenthal.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 12:00 p.m., at the Monroe United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Don Kim and Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
